The Financial Reporting Accountant will perform a variety of accounting tasks including the preparation of journal entries, processing and reconciling to the general ledger, reconciling various balance sheets, preparing workpapers and internal schedules based on financial results. Ideal candidates will have demonstated experience working with specifically with foreign currency and intercompany accounts. Expereince with Hyperion Financial Management is a plus.

The Publisher is charged with leading and managing all aspects of the Nelson Books publishing program, including Max Lucado’s trade books and the NEXT line. This includes vision casting; long-range strategic planning; developing the team; developing the imprint’s annual business plan; leading the team in successfully acquiring, developing, publishing, and promoting 40 to 50 new books—plus managing an extensive backlist—each year; collaborating with the sales team on the development and implementation of sales plans; analyzing financial performance; and interfacing with peers as well as senior leadership of the company. The publisher is responsible for the Nelson Books editorial team and the Nelson Books and Lucado marketing teams. In addition, the Publisher is personally responsible for identifying, pursuing, presenting, and acquiring 8 to 10 book projects per year as well as managing relationships with the imprint’s key authors. Success is defined as meeting or exceeding annual goals, especially revenue, expense, and profit goals.

The Marketing Manager is a strategic and tactical leader in planning and managing marketing activities for key frontlist and select backlist titles. This position will lead the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns for several core genres and key authors on our fiction team. These comprehensive campaigns for assigned titles include (but are not limited to) marketing positioning, consumer messaging, media planning and buying, social media strategy, live events, budgeting, and ROI analysis for each campaign advertising. In partnership with authors, agents, editors, vendors, retail sales and other team members, the marketing manager applies an integrated approach to meet sales goals.
In addition to author and title responsibilities, the Marketing Manager will assist with other initiatives to lift the Fiction division’s profile.

The Acquisitions Editor position acquires and develops book projects for the division, working with the author (or writer) to ensure that the completed manuscript meets accepted editorial standards in terms of content, scope, development of the subject, organization, and accuracy. He/she makes formal presentations at key meetings (such as Pub Board and Sales Conference); interfaces with sales and marketing and provides information as needed; and with the Publisher develops and manages relationships with key authors and literary agents. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing market trends, pursuing new authors and book projects, evaluating book proposals submitted by literary agents, presenting and costing new projects, negotiating major deal points for new projects, substantively editing manuscripts, and serving as internal champion for projects acquired. Responsible for business and leadership content categories that inspire (such as executive bios and corporate success stories) and build insights and skills (such as best practice training and development in specific business disciplines).
Uses automatic forklift and RF technology equipment to move materials throughout the warehouse to replenish, stage and cycle count product to meet production timelines.
Shift: Monday - Friday 8 pm - 4:30 am
