We are currently seeking a summer intern to work with the Strategy, Innovation, and Business Development teams.    This internship is based in NYC on a hybrid schedule.   The Strategy and Innovation team is looking at the future of reading, how to sell stories to the customers of tomorrow, how to get our authors’ stories into the hands of more people, what innovations will impact the book industry, and so much more. It’s an exciting set of questions and the team works with all parts of the business and across all HarperCollins global offices to find these answers!   The Digital Business Development team seeks to put HarperCollins books into the hands of more readers through deals with retailers, subscription services, libraries, and schools.  We’re continually seeking new opportunities to distribute our content to new vendors, on new business models, and in new formats.   The HarperCollins Summer Internship Program is a paid 10 week program which runs from June 3 through August 8.  All interns work Monday through Thursday, for a total of 28 hours per week (Monday-Thursday, 9-5).  As a HarperCollins intern, you will learn about the entire publishing process - following one book from beginning to end while hearing from the people who worked on it in our weekly lunch and learn series. You will work on a publishing project throughout the summer with your fellow interns and have the opportunity to present your findings to senior staff.  There are plenty of opportunities to network, and the end of the program culminates with a presentation called “How to Get a Job in Publishing” – offering advice on your resume, cover letter, interview, and networking. The recruitment team is searching for applicants who identify with groups that are traditionally underrepresented in the publishing industry.   Please submit a cover letter – applications without cover letters will not be considered.
