Overview

The Maintenance Technician works under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor and with the Maintenance Team to set up, operate, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment for operations. This position is 1st shift, M-F 6am-2:30pm but must be willing to work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the orderliness and operating status of operational machinery through preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and performs any mechanical, electrical and PLC repairs and adjustments as required.
  • Works with Operation Supervisors to explains issues, concerns, to advise of any downtime issues/constraints.
  • Performs routine electrical repair projects on production equipment such as breakers, PLC’s, motor controls, motors, and lighting fixtures in a professional manner
  • Possesses knowledge of detailed electrical schematics, drawings and blueprints required to assemble or repair electrical equipment, as required
  • Selects, installs and pulls wiring to required equipment locations, making connections, testing circuitry and performing related installation processes
  • Conducts machine changeovers as required throughout the day.
  • Fabricates parts or other devices to maintain operations and safe working conditions.
  • Ensures all processes are followed including operational, safety 6S, etc.
  • When needed, may assist facilities with various tasks (i.e., moving furniture, racks, etc.)
  • Maintains and completes various reports including time and production records, preventative maintenance logs and downtime logs, as required.
  • Drives a safety-first culture and consistently strives to improve ergonomic conditions.
  • Maintains a high-level of technical competence in field.
  • Available during off hours in the event of an urgent and/or emergency situations at the facility.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required, plus 1 to 2 years of vocational training in mechanical, electrical and PLC applications plus 3-5 years’ experience in the field.
  • Experience/knowledge with PLC applications required or a willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with NEC and NFPA 70E Requirements
  • Electrical voltage experience up to 480V
  • Basic maintenance skills, such as ability to use electrical tools, run conduit and pull wire

 

  • Demonstrates troubleshooting and repair capability in:    Electrical knowledge, sensors, variable speed drive and temperature controls.
  • PLC applications/adjustments.
  • Mechanical knowledge, bearings, gears and chain drives
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics.

 

  • Computer experience with mainframes and MS Office preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and identify and correct problems.
  • Must be able to use sound judgement and decision-making skills.

Pay: $28-$35/hr Salary will commensurate with experience.
