Overview

HarperAudio is looking to hire a Producer! We're a nimble, dynamic team that oversees the production of all of HarperCollins US and Harlequin US audiobooks. Spanning a wide range of genres, you get to work with best-selling authors and help launch new careers.

A little about you: You love the spoken word both as a creative and as a listener. You're detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and great at managing competing deadlines. You get excited about pushing the audiobook format forward.

The job: Your title list will be a mix of Trade fiction and non-fiction with a focus on the HarperChristian, HarperFocus, and Harlequin imprints. You get to work on single voice narration, multicast productions, author narrations, and more. You will manage relationships with various production vendors and outside contractors and work closely with the print publishing teams.

Responsibilities

You will manage the production of a high volume of titles per year. The ability to handle multiple deadlines and track simultaneous projects is a must.

  • Source and engage with production vendors and outside contractors, such as narrators, directors, and studios
  • Develop casting lists for your titles and work with the other producers to expand our talent pool
  • Ensure that the audiobook production runs on schedule and within budget, troubleshooting any problems that may arise and working closely with the in-house production team to create solutions
  • Ensure all audiobook programs maintain a high level of production quality
  • Cultivate relationships with editors, authors, and agents
  • Support additional production tasks as needed
  • Direct select titles

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in audiobook production
  • Ability to set priorities and solve problems under pressure
  • Is a self-starter and strong team member
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and well-organized, with strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Proficient in Airtable, a plus
  • Conversational or fluent in Spanish, a plus

The salary for this position is $70,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
