HarperCollins Children’s Books is seeking an Editorial Assistant to provide administrative and editorial support to Harper’s Picture Books and Programs team, a collaborative, creative team with a focus on classic brands and beloved characters, reporting to an editorial director and executive editor. This group is dedicated to creating books around esteemed house brands such as Pete the Cat, Pinkalicious, Biscuit, and Fancy Nancy, including backlist care, and developing captivating new picture books and powerful middle grade and teen novels by award-winning authors, with titles that include New York Times bestsellers Hansel and Gretel by Stephen King and Maurice Sendak, Harlem Honey by Tamron Hall, Eyes that Kiss in the Corners by Joanna Ho, Exquisite Things by Stonewall Award-winning author Abdi Nazemian, and National Book award long listee The Corruption of Hollis Brown by K. Ancrum. Additionally, the team continues to publish an evergreen backlist of books from beloved authors C.S. Lewis, Maurice Sendak, Shel Silverstein, Soman Chainani, Victoria Kann, and Eric Carle.

The salary for this position is $52,500. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
