Overview

The Team Leader ensures that productivity, service and quality targets are met for the Direct Marketing department, by providing proper staffing, training and support.  Serves as liaison between the supervisor, support groups and associates.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:

 

  • Leads the teams and provides direction on daily job functions to ensure daily productivity targets are met in an efficient manner.
  • Leads production line set up efficiently (correct product inserted with correct equipment, at correct speed), staffed at the required level and line downtime is kept to a minimum.
  • Accountable for physical and systemic accuracy of line setup, changeover and clean up.
  • Assists the Supervisor in creating the daily production schedule.
  • Works interactively and professionally with other support areas (Maintenance, Merge, Scheduling, Stock Handlers, etc.)
  • Assigns employees to other functions/dept as needed.
  • Able to make minor mechanical adjustments to the lines as needed.
  • Able to perform all job functions on the line to keep the line running and hit production and service targets.
  • Follows all safety guidelines and procedures and ensures that everyone in the department follows safety procedures and wears the necessary safety equipment when required.
  • Adheres to quality specifications within each assignment and performs prescribed quality checks as instructed.
  • Ensures that inventory is accounted for and kept in balance in the system. Performs inventory transactions as necessary to maintain accuracy.
  • Ensures that departmental housekeeping requirements are performed daily.
  • Effectively trains, coaches and develops other associates by modeling appropriate guiding behaviors.
  • Actively participates in various meetings, especially the 6 am daily shift start meeting.
  • Completes all required paperwork and generates reports as needed.
  • Follows standard operating procedures as instructed and adopts practices and behaviors that achieve efficiency and productivity rates.
  • Exhibits a strong safety focus every day, a model for all associates.
  • Works collaboratively as member of team and must demonstrate support of Harlequin’s Guiding Behaviors when working with others.
  • Performs marginal tasks

Qualifications

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One-year experience in the Direct Marketing operation or other leadership capacity required. Two years preferred.
  • Demonstrates solid communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various teams and leadership.
  • Experience with computers (MS Office preferred).
  • RF and powered equipment experience a plus.
  • Fork truck certified or willing to be certified a plus

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, and lift weights up to 15 lbs.
  • Regularly required to bend and lift weights up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to climb stairs and lift weight up to 30 lbs.

  • Frequently required to operate or work near moving equipment and work in noise of moderate volume.
  • Occasionally smells diesel fumes from dock trucks and works in varying degrees of temperature.

Pay: Starting at $20/hr.  Salary will commensurate with experience.
