Overview

This role is based in Nashville, Tennessee, and will require the candidate’s presence in the office two to three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of copyright registration process for a division of the Company, including ordering books for registration, collecting information necessary to file forms with the US Copyright Office, maintaining accurate reporting records of registrations, coordinating with editorial, production and other teams as necessary to ensure proper registration, and other tasks associated with the registration process.
  • Maintain Company’s paper author contract file room, including pulling paper documents as needed by Company staff, scanning and indexing documents, and updating electronic contract file databases.
  • Various responsibilities as part of a team responsible for updating and maintaining Company’s Title Management System.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in maintaining files
  • Publishing company experience and knowledge of book contracts and copyrights a plus
  • Detail oriented; focus on organization; able to maintain extensive tracking records; self-starter able to balance multiple high-level tasks simultaneously

The salary range for this position is $48,000- $51,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
