Overview

HarperCollins Children’s Books is seeking a creative, organized, and dynamic Marketing Intern to provide support for and work alongside our early reader and backlist marketing teams. The role requires a detail-oriented and creative individual, able to multi-task and set priorities. We’re a dedicated and enthusiastic team looking for a fellow savvy digital and traditional marketer to join us!

Responsibilities

  • Develop a working understanding of the teams and tasks involved in the publication of HarperCollins Children’s books
  • Learn important publishing software programs and use them to assist in administrative tasks, creating marketing copy for social media posts, influencer outreach, blog posts, and other departmental functions
  • Participate in photoshoots and content brainstorms with marketing and digital teams
  • Assist with creation of static and digital assets for marketing campaigns and social promotion
  • Coordinate marketing mailings for buzz building campaigns to influencers

Qualifications

  • Candidates who are available to work in a full-time capacity in 2026 or 2027 are eligible for this internship; open to rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry level candidates with up to two years of work experience. 
  • Candidates must be available to work 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, from June 8 to August 13, 2026, at our New York City office. This internship is compensated at a rate of $18 per hour.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

  • Ideal candidates are either currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program.
  • A passion for books is highly valued!  
  • All book lovers are welcome, but a strong familiarity with the children’s book market is a plus
  • Proactive and attentive to detail
  • Excellent writing skills, including ability to write in a voice appealing to consumers and consistent with HarperKids
  • Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills a must
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of platforms including Canva, WordPress, and Photoshop a plus!
  • Experience in content creation particularly on Instagram, TikTok and/or long form blog content preferred
