Overview

HarperCollins is seeking a senior business intelligence and analytics professional with a strong background in Power BI, data flows, report development, DAX, and AI. The ideal candidate will lead change initiatives and deliver actionable insights across the organization.

 

As a Senior Reporting Analyst, you’ll play a key role on the Reporting Team, aligning cross-functional goals and driving strategic initiatives through advanced analytics. You’ll bring a full-lifecycle project perspective and a sharp analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a Power BI reporting portfolio used by 900+ users across departments.
  • Collaborate with database teams to implement automated reporting strategies, focusing on data flows and DAX.
  • Design and refine data models, document relationships across datasets for seamless Power BI integration.
  • Lead report development projects which include planning, scheduling, and allocating resources to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Partners with Tech Ops and business teams to build advocacy, create compelling visuals, and support data stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into clear technical documentation for report development.
  • Coordinate multiple project streams, integrating AI insights to enhance analytics.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in BI, with deep expertise in Power BI, data flows, DAX, and report development.
  • Proven leadership in managing stakeholder projects.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in QA, technical support, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, SSIS, BigQuery, Azure).
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to apply AI insights to business decisions.
  • Skilled in building financial and strategic business cases for diverse audiences.
  • End-to-end project management experience, including data discovery and validation.
  • Familiarity with Jira is a plus.

The salary for this position is $135,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
