Overview

Position is part of a team that performs ‘run the business’ functions for HarperCollins NA.   The Production Services Analyst is responsible for batch engineering, code promotes, application and batch monitoring, change management and audit data gathering along with providing Level 1 support for infrastructure services including servers, network appliances, and applications.  This position coordinates activities between IT customers and Data Center Operations. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 Data Center Operational support, including participating in an after-hours on-call rotation
  • Provide gatekeeper responsibilities for migrating application code changes into production environments
  • Coordinate and document job scheduling for the Windows and Unix platforms using the Enterprise standard scheduling tool – Tidal Workload Automation.
  • Act as liaison between Applications Development, Global Technology Teams, and Data Center
    Operations
  • Provide operational support for HarperCollins applications, including the Crown Jewel applications (JDE, Klopotek, Biblio, etc.)
  • Responsible for performing domain registrations, DNS changes and certificate management
  • Work with Global Technology teams to orchestrate and test Data Center disaster recovery exercises
  • Responsible for data gathering and reporting for both internal and external audits
  • Provide installation and policy development for Operational support products including scheduling, infrastructure monitoring, print management (Solimar) and CI-CD toolsets
  • Perform gatekeeper role as part of the Federated Change Management Team for HarperCollins
  • Enforce proper Change Management processes with the internal HarperCollins developers and Global Technology infrastructure teams
  • Provide on-going technical and procedural training to the 7x24 Operations team

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years working knowledge in a MS Windows and Linux environment
  • Background in both application development and data center operations
  • Proficient with operational scheduling packages (Tidal Workload Automation preferred)
  • Skilled with network and infrastructure monitoring packages (SolarWinds)
  • Experience with developing and maintaining Windows batch and PowerShell scripts
  • Skilled in configuring DNS and provisioning SSL certificates
  • Adept at using media management software and procedures
  • Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Good analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of IT and customer personnel
  • Possess a positive, professional, team-oriented attitude
  • Exhibit a strong ability to work under pressure with changing priorities
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills
  • Work off-hours in support of projects as required

The salary range for this position is $85,000- $90,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
