Overview

HarperCollins is seeking a Sales Assistant to provide administrative and sales support to the Online and Digital Sales team. This role will support both the adult and children’s teams and will report to the Senior Director of Online and Digital Sales.

 

The Online Sales department handles print and digital sales to online accounts with a focus on Amazon. The Online & Digital Sales Assistant will support the team by creating and distributing account marketing materials, creating and polishing account presentations, managing price promotions for titles across all formats, and supporting the Digital Accounts team with day-to-day needs. This role will have a focus on title marketing, backlist, and digital audio growth. 

 

The Online & Digital Sales position is a unique opportunity to support the sale of books from every imprint across the company while learning fast-paced, high-visibility digital marketplace. Join a team of dynamic, innovative, hands-on national account reps responsible for bringing print, ebooks and audiobooks to an ever-changing marketplace.

 

Responsibilities

  • Preparing online catalog (Edelweiss) collections, sales presentations, and list catalogues for account presentations
  • Helping create Editorial and account newsletters
  • Assist with seasonal title presentations to accounts
  • Design and polish internal and external presentations
  • Identify backlist titles opportunity based on seasonality and marketplace trends
  • Navigating internal and external systems to track sales and orders
  • Manage timeline and materials for account presentations and mailings
  • Liaison with publishing and marketing teams in support of the sales team
  • Create account marketing materials, such as regular newsletters and publicity updates for retail and library accounts
  • General administrative prep, tasks, notes, and follow-up for all meetings
  • Performing general administrative duties for the department and department head, including scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars
  • Handle various digital pricing tasks
  • Coordinate ebook and audiobook price promotions, including liaising with various internal teams, maintaining promo data base including uploading as well as general support for all reps.
  • Ad hoc support tasks like collecting manuscripts, sales conference prep, pulling promo codes

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in sales and publishing
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, hands on, enthusiastic individual with exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop visually stunning and engaging presentations for a variety of audiences. Interest in design and background in presentation creation a plus.
  • Ability to translate information or creative ideas into visual displays that drive clear objectives.
  • Strong computer skills; Intermediate Excel skills, proficiency in Word and Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.
  • Basic understanding of and interest in any or all of the following: ebooks and/or audiobooks, digital publishing, ecommerce, consumer marketing

The salary for this position is $48,500. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
