Overview

The Publishing Services Group is hiring for a Galley Coordinator, Managing Editorial. The galley coordinator is the main point of contact among Managing Editorial, Sales Ops, and Production to coordinate our print and digital bound galley program across General Books and Children’s.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the seasonal list with Managing Ed and the Sales Ops teams, including SKU setup, flagging priority titles, distributing seasonal galley lists across teams, and setting up bound galley workflows in RSuite
  • Sets deadlines for galley cover copy and quantities and following up as needed
  • Tracks seasonal galley progress with Managing Ed, Sales Ops, and Production
  • Logs bound galley components, including copy, galley covers, and quantities
  •  Runs and posts weekly galley status reports
  • Attends weekly production meetings; flags outstanding materials and follows up as needed
  • Alerts the Publishing and Sales Ops teams of urgent galley updates, including late, early, or missing galleys
  • Review galley covers in Rsuite, as needed
  • Assists managing editors and other team members with some administrative tasks, including running reports and setting up tasks in RSuite for catalog covers, manuscripts, and offsets, as needed

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of prior publishing experience, preferably in trade production editorial, trade production manufacturing, or managing editorial
  • Must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to set priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient using the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive and constructive approach

The salary for this position is $50,700. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
