We are currently seeking a Warehouse Facility Manager to oversee the activities of the LaPorte Returns Center to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity goals in support of warehouse leadership team objectives.  This role is responsible for inventory accuracy, coordinating order fulfillment and driving company policies and procedures. This position reports to the Director of Operations and will be responsible for managing daily workflow with the departments and personnel in the warehouse in the absence of the Director.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions Maintenance

  • Oversees the functioning of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, buildings/grounds, security, and waste management.
  • Creates, maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department. Equipment: Baler, Forklifts, Pallet jacks.
  • Establishes and manages vendor relationships, researches for quality and pricing, reviews and manages contracts, ensures work is completed satisfactorily.
  • Utilizes 5S principles to create and implement programs, schedules, and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Coordinates with internal IT department to maintain system updates.
  • Conducts employee performance reviews and discipline.
  • Maintains company standards of safety in the work environment; ensures OSHA compliance.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the Warehouse Director.

 

Essential Job Functions Warehouse

  • Directs, supervises, and evaluates warehouse staff; ensures appropriate staff training, and safety.
  • Establishes warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse.
  • Produces regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Measures and maintains accuracy of returns warehouse utilizing available resources with a high attention to detail.
  • Sets warehouse and team goals in collaboration with executive management and other team leads.
  • Periodically assists with loading and unloading pallets from trucks.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of previous experience in distribution, logistics, operations planning and/or warehouse environment
  • Must have previously supervised multiple employees in a warehouse environment
  • Must have forklift driving experience
  • Successfully complete Forklift Operator Certification process
  • Must have or obtain OSHA 30 safety training
  • Must be capable of walking several miles per day, standing all day, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Actively participate in the Safety Committee
  • Exhibit a strong service attitude, even under stress, and proven relationship-building and negotiating skills
  • Must possess strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Be a self-starter with good judgment and decision-making
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload (strong time-management skills)
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Have a good understanding of financial concepts and budgeting with the ability to research and analyze data
  • Computer literacy: must be proficient with spreadsheets, databases, etc.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Physical requirements:

  • Standing, walking, climbing up and down, bending, reaching, crouching, grasping, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, making hearing protection optional but not required.
  • Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Hearing is necessary due to the automated equipment used (horn honking required to notify pedestrians that vehicles are near).
