HarperCollins Publishers seeks a Director, Product Management to support and manage the constantly evolving business and consumer facing systems that are supported by the I.T. organization.  As HarperCollins continues to transform business operations, the mix of bespoke and off the shelf solutions will require a dynamic candidate to work with the business to identify emerging needs and to establish roadmaps to deliver new functionality to the users. 

Responsibilities

  • Assumes ownership for the support and development of business and consumer facing products.
  • Engages with the business to define and prioritize requests.
  • Develops product roadmaps to be delivered using an agile methodology.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams, including development, design, and QA, to prioritize and deliver product enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Manages relationships with vendors and third-party providers, ensuring effective partnerships.
  • Monitors industry trends and emerging technologies to stay updated on best practices and drive innovation.
  • Defines and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and make data-driven decisions.
  • Provides training and support to end-users, ensuring successful adoption and utilization of the systems.
  • Conducts regular meetings and presentations to communicate product updates, progress, and roadmaps to stakeholders.
  • Manages budgets, including forecasting and tracking expenses.
  • Stays informed about regulatory and compliance requirements related to the systems and ensure adherence.
  • Identifies and addresses any issues or risks that may impact the performance or usability of the systems.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years related experience in IT product management
  • Experience setting up and working in an agile environment
  • Proven success in managing a portfolio of products
  • Strong analytical skills required with experience understanding how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including business executives, managers, subject matter experts and technical personnel
  • Ability to work with the business to identify and prioritize projects, drive delivery, and support the ongoing operation of tools and processes
  • Team player with proven ability to work in a dynamic, evolving work environment
  • Experience in the book publishing industry preferred

The salary range for this position is $160,000-$175,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.  As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates.  The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
