Warehouse hours: 6:00am to 2:30pm, Overtime occasionally.

Benefit Eligible date of hire.

 

 

Position Overview:  Warehouse worker for Returns Center located in LaPorte, Indiana. Warehouse workers will work in various areas of the warehouse. Work with AS400 computer system and scanners to process book returns into the system, making sure the correct customers receive their credits.  Collect books from conveyor line, sort, and put books in designated locations. Pack books in cartons for shipments. Use pallet jack to move material as needed. 

 

 

Responsibilities

Use scanners and computer systems to process returns
Quality check each unit for damage
Stack books on pallet in usable format or pattern
Re-palletize cartons on HarperCollins pallet
Use manifest sheet to put books away within 24 hrs. of receipt
Verify price and quantity by title
Use a pallet jack
Use RF Scanner
Pack books in cartons for distribution
Obey all safety and housekeeping rules
Cleaning area on a regular basis, sweeping and dusting
Must be available for overtime as needed
Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the department supervisor or warehouse manager.

Qualifications

Possess the capability of reading and comprehending instructions/procedures.
Be able to operate computer equipment.
Must have good communication skills.

Must be capable of standing all day and lifting up to 50 pounds

Must be able to use pallet jack to move pallets up to 600lbs

Use ladder or stool to reach books overhead

Good organizational and Math skills

Knowledge of AS400

Successfully complete job specific training within specified time

Must be 18 years old

Must be able to read and write English

Computer literate
