Marketing Associate

We are currently seeking a Consumer Marketing Associate to join the Central Marketing team which assists various departments and imprints across HarperCollins US. This is a unique opportunity to learn about book publishing and marketing, and to work with a close-knit, collaborative team—the perfect role for someone who is detail-oriented, social media-savvy, creative, and an analytical thinker.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists in creating and executing HarperCollins' corporate social media and website messaging, as needed.
  • Advises team on social media trends, news, and overall platforms.
  • Oversees community management.
  • Communicates performance on sales promotions and social media campaigns.
  • Collaborates with in-house departments on various projects.
  • Assists with email marketing, including editing, routing, and scheduling. 
  • Works to create a more dynamic website user experience through creating and maintaining online content collections.
  • Provides general administrative support, including coordinating and preparing for meetings with Sales and various imprints; creating slides for meetings; and website updates.


  • Minimum 1-2 years of marketing experience, preferably in book publishing or a similar industry
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • A positive, can-do attitude and an enthusiastic, creative self-starter
  • High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and organization
  • Passion for books, publishing, social media, and marketing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of email marketing services such as Sailthru, HTML, and Adobe Creative Suite is favorable
  • Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok, as well as associated media monitoring, advertising, and analytical tools

The salary range for this position is $51,500-$55,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
