Harper Perennial and Harper Paperbacks is currently seeking a Marketing Assistant. This position will provide administrative and marketing support to the Director of Marketing and to the Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates material for marketing meetings, in-house planning, pre-sales meetings, and sales conferences.
  • Requests and compiles galley quantities, submits order forms to production, and tracks inventory of marketing quantities.
  • Requests and manages consumer giveaways across the department, including Goodreads giveaways and influencer outreach.
  • Inputs data in various systems.
  • Processes and submits invoices.
  • Handles all title-specific mailings to booksellers and consumers.
  • Provides support on title marketing campaigns as directed, including requesting digital assets and working with title marketers on videos, social media campaigns, and more.
  • Writes copy for marketing letters, newsletters, social media posts, and other marketing materials as needed.
  • Works with ad/promo dept to create flyers, advertising assets, e-cards, graphics, and social media assets.
  • Contributes to brand presence and promotion on social media platforms.
  • Performs administrative duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Prior office experience or internships required
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to set priorities while under pressure
  • Excellent written and oral communication and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Well-versed in social media platforms for marketing purposes
  • Experience with graphic design programs such as Canva or Photoshop not required but a plus
  • Experience with editing videos/reels on social media not required but a plus
  • Must love books!

This role is currently based out of New York, NY. You will need to commute to the office when it reopens.
