Marketing Assistant - HarperCollins 360

HarperCollins 360 is seeking a Marketing Assistant to join the New York-based team of this global HarperCollins program, publishing a select group of adult and children’s titles from HarperCollins UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India into the US marketplace. This position will support the department and work closely with the Affiliate Publisher and team to implement marketing and PR plans for HarperCollins 360 titles.   • Provide general administrative support for marketing and publicity (coordinate mailings, track marketing costs, maintain seasonal marketing grids, manage recurring meeting schedules and more).
  • Participate in seasonal launch, planning, and sales conference meetings and weekly marketing update meetings.
  • Create sales meeting materials including agendas and PowerPoints and collect and manage distribution of selling materials to reps.
  • Create draft copy for galley covers, press releases, and pitch letters.
  • Assist in creation of seasonal digital catalogs by adding selling points, marketing bullets, sample spreads, and more to title management system.
  • Coordinate publicity mailings and print press releases for the Publicity Manager.
  • Handle submissions for book awards and seasonal trade reviews.
  • Ensure marketing and publicity updates are reflected in HarperCollins’ title management system.
  • Assist in managing the Harper 360 social accounts to promote ebooks and digital audios via cover reveals, audiograms, excerpts, and new release announcements.


  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Marketing experience preferred, prior internship experience in publishing and/or marketing a plus
  • A motivated self-starter with a love for books
  • Strong knowledge of social media and web programs (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Email deployment, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to department goals
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
  • A keen eye for design, as well as a knowledge of basic HTML and Photoshop a plus

This role is currently based out of New York, New York. You will need to commute to the office when it reopens.
