HarperCollins Publishers is seeking an Accountant – Accounts Payable

We are seeking a highly motivated, quick learning, well organized professional for our accounts payable group.  The Ideal candidate pays very close attention to details, is an expert in issue resolution, is self-motivated and can come up with creative solutions to complex issues.  They have experience on various accounting and reporting systems, can handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time and perform regular monthly and yearly closing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Complete SOX testing, and provide documentation to auditors for AP SOX audit
  • Check AMEX P-Card users attached their receipts in AMEX CAR and update tracker and record monthly transactions
  • Record monthly J/E’s and accruals for the Accounts Payable area including weekly cash deposits
  • Complete monthly reporting requirements from various systems
  • Record reclasses for miscoded invoices, T&E and other areas (including correspondence when there are errors on the request)
  • Balance Concur feed from Concur and post in JDE
  • Vendor Master add/ change processing for US and foreign vendors
  • Accounts payable PO and non-PO voucher processing
  • Vendor payment verification
  • Support internal and external customers on accounts payables issues
  • Voucher EFT Sales & Use Tax requests for Harper and Harlequin
  • Knowledge of other JD Edwards Maintenance such as Hierarchy and Conversion Rate entry
  • Involvement in various financial systems projects
  • Systems/Accounting Liaison
  • Completes all Sox 404 requirements for Accounts Payable
  • 1099 and 1042 reporting and knowledge of processing invoices and determining the correct tax code

Qualifications

  • BS Accounting preferred with at least a minimum of 4 years prior accounting and/or systems experience
  • Strong attention to details
  • Solid background using PC and most common Financial Software
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable process flow
