We’re seeking an innovative data driven strategist to join the HarperCollins Children’s Subsidiary Rights team, with a focus on digital rights licensing. 


The Digital Rights Manager will work with the Rights Director and Senior Manager to collaborate on a dynamic digital licensing list for applicable Children’s trade books published by HarperCollins Children’s.


  • Assists in identifying appropriate titles for pitching to Digital/Audio customers and prepares materials.
  • Maintains relationships and contract processes with existing and new licensees.
  • Fulfills sample requests/materials requests for potential and existing licensees.
  • Collaborates and liaises with multiple in-house teams to integrate and maximize the reach of Digital Sublicensing.
  • Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the industry, proactively helping to explore new opportunities.
  • Establishes new deal templates and best practices in the emerging digital space.
  • Researches and answers inquiries from licensees and potential partners.
  • Creates and maintains records of partner conversations and negotiations; tracks submissions and interest.


  • 5 years of experience in the publishing industry preferred, including prior work experience in rights with an emphasis on digital licensing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Good negotiation skills, a strong sense of initiative, and high level of professionalism
  • Ability to work on deadline, have keen attention to detail, and demonstrate follow through
  • Ability to think strategically and adapt to changing circumstances in a highly collaborative environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

This role is currently based out of New York, New York. You will need to commute to the office when it reopens.
