Overview

We are currently seeking an Inventory Coordinator to provide support to the inventory management function for the Trade division – including maintaining optimal inventory levels, fill rates, and inventory turns, and keeping manufacturing costs in line with annual budgeted goals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes rate of sales and inventory levels in order to estimate replenishment needs and resolve inventory-related issues as they arise.
  • Performs various analytical functions – e.g., compares actual release orders to sales projections for frontlist releases and assesses sell-through at account level to shipments.
  • Monitors and maintains warning levels in inventory planning system, factoring in lead times and minimum reprint quantities.  Orders reprints when conditions warrant.
  • Prepares and tracks bindery shipments to select customers.
  • Initiates warehouse work orders for various displays, promotions, and stock maintenance.
  • Maintains and distributes weekly reprint log.
  • In a support capacity, prepares accurate material for weekly Operations meetings and follows up on decisions and action plans.
  • Interfaces with financial, editorial, production, sub rights, sales, and warehouse personnel on inventory-related matters.
  • Responsible for several weekly administrative departmental tasks.  This includes POS data compilation for Hot Title review as well as customer on-hand inventory figures for review by senior management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with publishing industry or inventory management required (title will be based on relevant experience)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to set priorities while under pressure
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access
  • College Degree required or equivalent work experience
