Overview

HarperCollins Publishers is currently hiring a DevOps Engineer experienced in modernizing corporate applications.  We are seeking candidates within a commutable distance to either our office in Moosic, PA or Princeton, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support environments in Microsoft Azure cloud
  • Support development teams in technical questions of continuous integration/continuous delivery, delivery organizations
  • Develop and manage CI/CD process for different types of application and automate as many processes as possible
  • Consult on technical aspects of installation, sizing, scaling
  • Manage the full release process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft based production systems
  • Maintain and monitor existing hybrid Microsoft Cloud infrastructure and optimize it
  • Apply ‘Infrastructure as a Code’ principles to describing and automating infrastructure and application configuration (Terraform basic experience is required)
  • Microsoft Azure Cloud basics:
    • Azure services basics (Azure Application Gateway, Azure App Service, Azure KeyVault, Azure SQL, Azure Storage Account, Azure API management, Azure CLI)
    • Understanding of load balancers, DNS, virtual networks and firewalls in cloud environment
    • Support monitoring (Azure monitor alerts, performance metrics)
  • Azure Active Directory basics:
    • Azure AD authentication
    • App registrations, Service principals
    • Users and groups
    • Roles
  • Azure DevOps services. CI/CD for .NET projects experience. Manage, develop, build CI/CD pipeline, including:
    • Check code quality
    • Unit, integration and functional tests implementation
    • PowerShell scripting for custom tasks automation
    • Environments strategy understanding
  • Understand what is ITIL incident management and change management processes
  • Customer-oriented, diligent, proactive, focused on achieving customer’s business objectives as top priority
  • Able to work successfully both individually and as a team member
  • Easy-going, friendly, communicative, positive in relations with colleagues, in every situation strives to see opportunities rather than problems
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
