Overview

Operate Forklift to assist as needed in areas of receiving, unloading or loading trucks, performing material handling duties. Operate forklift, balers, trash compactor, as needed in areas of destruction, moving material, loading and unloading trucks. Operate forklift and scissor lift, as needed, in areas of low stock and repair, putting away stock, unloading and loading trucks, pulling stock.   

 

 

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

Operate a Forklift
Operate a Baler/Compactor.
Operate a Scissor lift
Assist with unloading pallets from trucks and loading pallets on trucks.
Perform material handling duties as necessary.
Work with Multiple Supervisors of the different areas of the warehouse. 
Climbing on and off the forklift multiple times daily.
Be available for overtime as required.
Obey all safety and housekeeping rules
Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the department supervisor or warehouse director
 

Requirements

Must have forklift driving experience.
Must have machine operating experience.
Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
Successfully complete Company Forklift Operator Certification process.
Successfully complete Company Job Specific Safety training.
Must have good communication skills
Strong organizational and basic math skills.
High School graduate or equivalent (GED).
Availability for overtime as required.

 

 

Other Skills or Abilities
Ability to use equipment as needed and maintain focus on the task at hand.
Must be able to read and write English
Basic Computer skills

Qualifications

Physical Demands

Standing, walking, climbing up and down, bending, reaching, crouching, grasping, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying.
Specific tolerance to heights and ability to move material at different heights.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include regular and close vision.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, making hearing protection optional but not required 
Hearing is necessary due to the automated equipment used (horn honking required to notify pedestrians that vehicles are near)
