  • Overview



    We are currently seeking an Assistant Publicist to provide administrative and campaign support to two senior members of the William Morrow Group publicity team.   


    • Assists with writing press releases, pitches letters and other promotional materials relating to book tours.
    • Helps in pitching media and book reviews.
    • Assists with coordinating lecture events and book signings for authors.
    • Organizes author schedules; books travel for authors on tour; maintains a book campaign budget.
    • Generates media contact lists and orchestrates publicity mailings for major book campaigns.
    • Handles publicity campaigns for their own projects, including writing press releases and booking author tours.
    • Liaises with authors, editors, marketers and the sales department.  
    • Shares department assistant duties such as awards mailings, answering phones, and sending book requests.


    • 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience
    • Prior internship experience in publishing or publicity preferred
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
    • Ability to handle information confidentially
    • Ability to excel in a fast-paced/high pressure environment
    • Ability to work independently
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; social media knowledge a plus
    • Able to travel to author events and media interviews in NYC
