    The Sales Director is responsible for overseeing the efforts of the Specialty Sales Team. This includes growing revenue within the existing accounts as well as opening, growing, and developing new accounts. The Sales Director also provides leadership and career development to the current members of the Specialty team. 

    Responsibilities

    • Product forecasting at Pub Boards
    • Entering the sales forecast in the Sales Projection System (SPS)
    • Control of inventory
    • Monitoring and reviewing sales data looking for sales trends and new product opportunities
    • Managing publisher relationships
    • Managing Co-op and advertising expenses for this division
    • Attending all corporate meetings where your input is needed for future projects
    • Overseeing planning meetings with each sales person regarding account growth

    Qualifications

    Knowledge: Working knowledge of book sales required. Knowledge of HCCP products is desirable. Specific knowledge of HCCP kids and gift sales to major accounts is a bonus!

     

     

    Work Experience: 7 plus years selling to or managing specialty accounts. Kids and gift product sales is ideal.

     

     

    Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

     

     

    Industry Knowledge: Understands the publishing process from a sales perspective from start to finish. Also understanding the retailer’s presentation cycles and their formatting.

     

    Skills:

    • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, strong verbal and written communication, and advanced presentation skills.
    • Ability to read your buyer and anticipate their needs and objections to ensure the sale is closed.
