    HarperCollins Publishers is currently seeking an energetic, creative and highly-motivated Rights Assistant, Media, to join its Children’s Book Division. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a newly hired Director in soliciting HarperCollins Children’s Books for all filmed media opportunities. This position will report into the Director, Media.

    Responsibilities

    Assist Director, Media with all matters pertaining tv/film rights including but not limited to:

    • Schedule and prepare agendas for internal meetings, sales calls and business trips for Director, Media
    • Prepare coverage reports and flag books for potential licensors based on their current mandates
    • Working with Director, prepare and execute submissions for potential licensors
    • Maintain organized systems for tracking and flagging books going out on submission for media consideration
    • Enter deals into rights system and track progress of contracts
    • Liaise with all departments to prepare media specific selling material
    • Assist with other assignments and projects as assigned by manager

    Qualifications

    • 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience.
    • Prior Internship experience preferred
    • Must have interest in learning about general children’s book marketplace, publishing industry
    • Organized, detail-oriented and skilled at prioritizing workload
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
