  • Overview

    The Senior Manager of Audio Sales manages all aspects of the collective internal Audio Program including but not limited to the title selection, revenue and expense analytics and strategies, input on production decisions, and promotion of titles. This is not an audio production position. 

    Responsibilities

    • Serves as an expert representative of HCCP’s Audio, and Audio Licensing activities to internal (Publishers, Company Leadership, HarperCollins Global Audio teams) constituents
    • Serves as an expert resource on Audio negotiation standards and contractual language
    • Must remain educated and informed on industry standards and corporate policy
    • Analyzes comprehensive audio program from a revenue and expense perspective capturing hard goods and digital sales both internally and through third parties
    • Responsible for working with the Sr Director of Sales on the creation of Annual Expense and Revenue Budgets
    • Responsible for providing regular (no less than monthly) communication on overall Audio Program to all Publishers, Upper Level Management, Editorial, and Sales Teams, including communication to parent company
    • Identifies, develops, and implements growth strategies for Audio Program and IP third party parterships
    • Directly manages the distribution relationship with hard goods manufacturer and sales company for the audio format
    • Collaborates directly with Sales and Publishing Units to determine Acquisitions into the Audio Program using metrix and financial evaluations on a title by title basis
    • Disseminates final audio title lists to Publishers, Production, and Sales
    • Engages directly with Audio Producers, Production, and Publishers on approvals and scheduling for the asset creation and packaging for audio products
    • Works with Publishers to determine guidelines for narrators on each title
    • Collects, organizes and distributes metadata details to Publishing Groups for data entry into systems for all audio product
    • Responsible for identifying, monitoring, and communicating audio metadata issues
    • Leads collaboration with Publishing and Sales Teams to manage marketing and PR efforts for all audio produced internally in an effort to grow brands/authors and revenue generation
    • Works with In House Producer to maintain budgets for each audio recording
    • Represents the company and content at markets and fairs worldwide for audio
    • Travel as necessary

    Qualifications

    Knowledge: Preferred candidates will bring strong prior knowledge of the Audiobook publishing Industry. Those with subsidiary rights (contract) knowledge are a major plus.

     

    Work Experience: 5+ Years’ experience, (preferably in the audio publishing industry) is strongly desired.

     

    Education: Bachelors degree preferred.

     

    Industry Knowledge: Candidates with publishing industry, intellectual property management, and audio production knowledge are highly desirable!

     

    Skills:

    • Confidence in contract interpretation.
    • Solid negotiation skills.
    • Sound decision-making abilities.
    • Analytical mind. Able to perform profit/loss analysis.
    • Self-sufficient once trained.
    • Advanced computer skills to include Access & Excel.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
