    HarperCollins Children’s Books is seeking an Advertising & Promotions Assistant in the Advertising department to manage a variety of tasks to support the team.  Duties include trafficking and coordinating advertising projects, managing and processing marketing invoices, and assisting the team in a variety of other projects (ranging from print and digital assets to social media advertising campaign creation). This role will expose you to multiple functions of the children’s marketing department and interface with all members, across category, of the marketing team.


    • Works with Marketing, Managing Editorial, Editorial and Design departments to schedule and traffic back of book ads which promote our backlist titles within our frontlist and reprints.
    • Works with Associate Director of Advertising to traffic advertising creative among relevant teams and solicit ad proposals as needed.
    • Set up, launch, and optimize social media ad campaigns.
    • Processes all advertising invoices for Children’s marketing team.
    • Solicits and works in tandem with Assoc. Dir. of Advertising on booking and project management of all trade advertising.
    • Provides administrative support as needed.


    • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
    • Must be proactive, detail-oriented, incredibly organized, and a quick learner
    • Must thrive on working closely with different teams and satisfying multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
    • Prior administrative or advertising/publishing internship experience a plus
    • Excellent communication, organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Must possess skill to prioritize multiple ongoing projects
    • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs and Basecamp a plus
    • Keen interest in the mechanics of advertising is a huge plus
