    We are looking for an avid reader to join the Backlist Marketing Team to coordinate a variety of functions related to the execution of marketing campaigns and online community building, under the direction of a Director of Marketing. In addition to a love of books, the ideal candidate will be a strong writer, organized, and detail oriented.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain the Page Chaser platform – write original blog posts, coordinate blog and deals schedule, liaison with bloggers, contribute to social media, and grow organic following
    • Set targets and goals or brand sites and communities; identify and execute strategies to achieve them
    • Build brand loyalty and grow data lists
    • Devise and execute digital campaigns in line with marketing objectives
    • Create social media content to promote backlist and custom releases
    • Coordinate the media buy process for backlist and custom marketing plans (reserve ads, record the media schedule, create tags and trackable links, deliver files, and track and report on results)
    • Design social media content and digital ads and analyze results on a daily basis to adapt as necessary to optimize
    • Process gratis requests and marketing and publicity related invoices for payment, set up new vendors, and any other required outside vendor paperwork 

    Qualifications

    Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge and familiarity of social media sites and related management tools necessary. Experience with product-specific SEO preferred.

     

    Work Experience: 1-2 years of previous marketing experience preferred, or combination of internships and part-time experiences; design experience a plus.

     

    Education: 4-year degree required, with an emphasis in marketing preferred. Other majors welcome when combined with relevant experience.

     

    Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of publishing or other consumer content-related or entertainment industry preferred but not required

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
    • Ability to use and quickly grasp navigation of online reporting tools 
    • Strong eye for design and basic levelgraphic design skills preferred, or willingness to learn design tools for simple social graphic development  
    • Developing and evolving successful consumer websites including recruiting and managing large consumer databases and building loyal communities
    • Using website and blogging platforms and evaluation through web analytics and other reporting software
    • Experience in content marketing, Social media marketing, community building and analytics
    • Effectively collaborating with brand stakeholders and creatives to achieve a better result
    • Building and managing databases and communities
    • Strategic and always able to understand the bigger picture
