    The Accountant, Inventory and Cost, works with the Director, Finance- Inventory and Cost to ensure accurate financial records with regards to product and job costing.  This role manages tracking and analysis of component holding jobs, assists with the processing and review of received inventory and invoices, assists with the Bindery Ship application management, maintains and analyzes all in-transit inventory, and reviews reporting to recommend job closures.  A successful candidate will be able to deliver on current responsibilities with an overall goal of improving reporting, analysis, and procedures for cost and inventory at HCCP.

    Responsibilities

    The main responsibilities of the Accountant, Inventory and Cost, include:

    • Manage component ledgers for accurate tracking of open book block stock, storage, and bind up availability
    • Assist with Purchase Order review to ensure each new PO issued is appropriate and complete for the project
    • Maintain JDEdwards item masters by ISBN as needed to support the business
    • Monitor and reconcile in-transit stock
    • Maintain job costing ledgers and analyze reports for open jobs to be closed
    • Assist with bindery shipment process
    • Assist with invoice processing and review
    • Ensure all plant cost ledger set ups are complete an accurate for the job
    • Cost accounting expertise: work with the Director, Finance – Inventory and Cost to ensure all transactions within the cost module and JDE are properly reflected in the financial system
    • Ad hoc reporting and analysis:  create or review reports for internal and external customers upon request
    • Process improvement:  actively seeks out ways to improve processes or systems as they relate to the Inventory and Cost area

    Qualifications

    Work Experience:

    A minimum of 2 years in a corporate accounting, finance, or cost account department in a staff accounting or leadership role.  Knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, and data warehouse systems preferred. 

     

    Education:

    Associate’s Degree in Accounting is required; Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is preferred.

     

    Industry Knowledge:

    Knowledge of book job costing, inventory review and tracking, and manufacturing processes preferred. 

     

    Additional Skills:

    • Extremely professional – phone, email, and in person. 
    • Clear sense of urgency. 
    • Highly responsible and reliable. 
    • Organized and strong attention to detail. 
    • Able to understand the importance of accuracy as it relates to costing jobs, vendor payments, and data delivery to internal and external customers.
