  • Overview

    Manage visual content for all products, but especially those with complex and high-count graphics and act as liaison between Editorial and Creative to maintain a smooth and efficient production process.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the selection and collection of visual elements and metadata for full-color books and Bibles 
    • Manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality control and sticking to the production schedules.
    • Manage creation, editing, and organization of maps
    • Help to build, document & control visual content budgets
    • Evaluate photos and other graphic elements for size, quality, and color
    • Organize and properly prepare content files for the Composition team
    • Seek out and negotiate contracts, licenses, and permissions for visual elements
    • Establish and maintain best practices for permissions tracking and documentation
    • Archive and keyword images in HCCP's internal image library
    • Track and process all invoices for visual elements
    • Write, edit, and proofread ancillary material, such as captions, as needed
    • Continuously expand graphic resources and opportunities

    Qualifications

    Work Experience:

    • 2-4 years in project management and/or operations management
    • Experience working with stock photo houses or individual photographers, preferred
    • Permissions and fee negotiation experience, preferred 

    Education:

    • BA, preferably with at least some basic Bible courses

    Industry Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of the Christian publishing industry & products, preferred
    • Knowledge of design techniques/procedures, technology/tools & printing processes a plus
    • Knowledge of the Holy Land a plus
    • A good working knowledge of Bible content, preferred

    Skills:

    • Excellent written communication skills
    • Proven time management, project management, and organizational skills
    • Excellent interpersonal/relational skills
    • Proven spelling and proofreading skills
    • Knows standard editorial marks
    • Able to distill numerous pieces of information and communicate key points to others
    • Proficient knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Knowledge of PhotoShop & Adobe Illustrator helpful but not required
    • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
