    HarperCollins 360 is currently seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to join the New York-based team of this global HarperCollins program, publishing a select group of adult and children’s titles from HarperCollins UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India into the US marketplace. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, fiscally astute, and consumer marketing-savvy with a strong foundational sense of the publishing business and how digital fits into the whole; they will be ready to drive digital strategy and marketing.

    Responsibilities

    • Optimize the Harper 360 US digital sales business in coordination with the Affiliate Publisher.
    • Set priorities with international imprints by identifying titles across ebook and audio with the maximum chance of success based on your deep knowledge of the current trends and competitive landscape.
    • Ensure covers, categories, author comps, and metadata are delivering the highest potential in this market.
    • Champion 360 ebooks and audio to the Harper US digital sales team.
    • Work with US sales on gaining key merchandising slots with major e-tailers and low-price aggregators such as Kindle, Audible, Nook, Goodreads and Bookbub and any new entrants to market.
    • Work with US pricing team to optimize ebook and audio prices and continually mine the list for opportunities.
    • Suggest and manage ebook and digital audio price promotions.
    • Plan digital consumer campaigns for ebook and audio priorities (including advertising, social media, retail marketing, and more) within budget, keeping abreast of new marketing opportunities and platforms and providing analysis of all results to inform future campaigns.
    • Work with marketing coordinator to implement campaigns and grow marketing and social channels.
    • Devise pricing, marketing and social strategies for digital first ebooks and work to build strong initial publications and optimize backlist sales.
    • Work with the Affiliate Publisher on using ebook and digital audio strategy to build author and series brands.

    Qualifications

    • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
    • 3-4 years’ experience working with digital book platforms in sales, merchandising, and/or analysis; International experience, a plus
    • Deep knowledge of the digital publishing landscape
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Superb organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines
    • Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
    • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Knowledge of basic HTML and Photoshop, a plus
    • Knowledge of various social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
