    HarperCollins Children’s Books is currently seeking a Designer who is sharp, creative, and highly-motivated. The Designer will use print and digital experience to actively contribute to new work and ensure that the integrity of our brands is present in all facets across platforms. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative and can work cohesively with the marketing, creative, operations and digital teams in a fast-paced environment.


    • Design and manage projects across digital and print platforms.
    • Maintain branding for children’s and YA books and series throughout trade and consumer advertising, social media and promotional materials.
      • Generate animated and static online ads, e-blasts and e-newsletters via .GIF and HTML5.
      • Create posters, brochures, discussion guides and teaching materials.
      • Make graphics for social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc).
      • Design sales and marketing materials for annual conventions and cons.
      • Design materials that enhance the brand and the overall consumer experience.
    • Work collaboratively with marketing teams and to conceptualize projects and execute designs effectively.
    • Use creative and technical processes to explore, understand and use new software and other technological advancements related to our business.
    • Create design instructions clearly for pre-production handoffs and review and mark up call-outs on mechanicals and proofs.


    • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
    • 3+ years design experience
    • Excellent Mac skills and design skills using Adobe Creative Suite
    • Experience using HTML5 and Print Layout required
    • Experience with AfterEffects, Google Web Designer, and Basecamp strongly preferred
    • Experience with branding and packaging design
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Must be creative, adaptable, and have a strong work-ethic
    • Ability to prioritize and perform under pressure
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Ability to work effectively in a team setting
