    The Senior Marketing Manager is a strategic and tactical leader in planning and managing marketing activities for primarily key frontlist titles for Emanate Books, HarperCollins Christian Publishing’s newly formed charismatic imprint. Emanate Books serves the ever-growing, nondenominational, Spirit-filled Christian book reader with content catered directly to their tribe and interests, designed to reach Christ followers around the globe.

     

    This position will lead and develop comprehensive marketing campaigns for assigned books which includes, but is not limited to: marketing positioning, consumer messaging, media planning and buying, social media strategy, live events, budgeting, and ROI analysis for each campaign. The Senior Marketing Manager remains actively engaged with authors and clients through phone calls, conference calls, in-person presentations, and online communication. This position also maintains a healthy relationship with Harper Christian’s robust sales force, responding to the needs of retail sales channels and other team members, applying an integrated approach to meet sales goals.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops, implements and manages comprehensive marketing campaigns of moderate to high complexity for assigned authors, titles, and brands
    • Oversees digital strategy for all Emanate projects
    • At times will present marketing plans and updates at key meetings with authors, agents, sales teams and company executives.
    • Leverages best practices in digital (social media, search, email, etc.) and traditional (advertising, promotion, events) marketing methods to maximize unit sales and revenue.
    • Knowledge of comprehensive publicity campaigns and oversight of freelance PR firms.
    • Builds reader, influencer and advocate communities via social media and email.
    • Participates in the planning and preparation for all sales conferences, as well as presenting the marketing portion of certain titles during the conference.
    • Manages budget development and expense projections for assigned campaigns.
    • Manages author relationships and ensures clear, effective project management across author and agency team members.
    • Manages occasional event planning for conferences and trade shows. Attends as required.
    • Analyzes marketing campaigns and makes recommendations for adjustments based on results.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge: Expertise in digital marketing and knowledgeable in traditional marketing methods, digital analytics, and best practices. Proficient with MSOffice, project management and marketing management tools such as SilverPop or similar marketing platforms.

     

    Work Experience: 5-6+ years of marketing experience, with a concentration in digital marketing (social media, search engine marketing, email marketing, etc.).

     

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising or related field required

     

    Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of publishing or other consumer content-related industry preferred (music, entertainment, media, digital content, etc.). Author or Talent management experience a plus.

    • Comfortable presenting to groups
    • Some design or copywriting skills preferred
