The Director Sales: Business, Leadership & Personal Finance, while residing in the Sales Dept. will work with our applicable Sales, Publishing and Marketing teams, providing them necessary tools, feedback and information to help them achieve their prescribed goals.


This person will also, “own the category”, meaning he/she will be responsible for providing feedback, reporting, insight and recommendations across the company that provide insight and speak into growth opportunities.


  • Partnering with our sales channels and key reps to provide support for the category and product with sales information, tools and data to support their individual efforts.
  • When appropriate accompany key reps on sales calls to present the category and key product.
  • Own the selling relationship at key accounts that focus on business and leadership. This would include accounts with a buyer focused in this area.
  • Grow and manage our direct to corporate sales activities
  • Implement and manage related sales and positioning opportunities such as a spinner rack or endcap program
  • Work hand in hand with Publishing and Marketing on acquisition opportunities and building sales and marketing plans.
  • Work closely with HarperCollins NY and their sales teams that sell this genre .




Work Experience: Minimum 6-8 years in a Business-to-Business selling capacity with increasing levels of accomplishment and leadership. Demonstrated track record in achieving and exceeding sales goals. Preference will be given to the candidate with experience in selling creative content.


Education: High School required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; additional work experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.


Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of retail and online sales environment— key competitors and trends. An understanding of selling creative content, branding and marketing is preferred.

  • Must be able to positively represent the needs of the company in negotiating business opportunities and terms. Must be able to work toward and create a win-win value proposition with our potential customers
  • Whether a small or large group, able to speak clearly, confidently and concisely.
