Assistant Manager, Digital Operations

US-NJ-Monmouth Junction


Note: This position is located in our office in Princeton, NJ. Opportunity for travel to the NY office as needed for meetings and training opportunities.



HarperCollins is currently seeking a qualified candidate with proven experience in managing the day to day operations of digital assets. They will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of epubs, cover and author images and audio files. They should be able to identify potential issues or areas of improvement and escalate accordingly. In this role, the assistant manager will collaborate with various internal stakeholders, working to promote team processes and the understanding of all current and future workflows. In addition, this role will act as a liaison to high value retailers to advocate business needs and relay requirements back to various team members across global divisions


Manage and support the day to day operations of the distribution of digital assets to e-retailers

  • Gather new requirements for development team to create improved Rsuite workflow and composition functionality
  • Represent HarperCollins business requirements and priorities among digital retailers
  • On-board new vendors in order to send digital catalog
  • Manage the end to end of special projects including tracking updates, reporting and identifying associated risks
  • Track daily pricing updates at retailer sites
  • Host meetings with various internal stakeholders to explain and review new features and process updates
  • Provide personal or group training for specific Rsuite workflows and functionalities
  • Be the SME for internal systems and team processes


3+ years publishing experience

  • 1-2 years’ prior experience as a Project Manager
  • Experience managing external retailers
  • Experience in digital asset management
  • Experience tracking workflows in Jira, Rsuite or similar software
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Experience managing a direct report
  • Works well in team setting; able to follow direction
  • Able to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize and self-manage
  • Thorough, accurate and articulate verbal and written communication skills
  • Capacity to think and react gracefully in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
