Overview

HarperCollins is seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant.  Applicants responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, account reconciliations, SOX testing, ADHOC reporting, tax reporting, payroll processing.  Experience should include Accounting Degree, Overall knowledge of Payroll including processing and taxes

Responsibilities

  • Maintain payroll related account reconciliations.

  • Maintain Taxes in UltiPro (powered by Ultimate software)
  • Prepare and balance standard journal entries for update to JDE General Ledger
  • SOX Testing
  • Work independently with external and internal auditors
  • Prepare and Maintain Employee Personal Use of Vehicle
  • Assist with the processing of multiple payrolls including data input, special payments, PRFP’s, and balancing reports.
  • Assist in testing payroll system updates, enhancements, etc. for the UltiPro Payroll system.
  • Develop ADHOC reports using the UltiPro Reporting System for outside agencies
  • Respond/Research user inquiries.
  • Will be expected to handle confidential records in a professional manner. 
  • Will work with support team at Ulti with any Payroll related issues.
  • May have contact with Federal and or State taxing authorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum of two years Payroll Accounting experience.
  • Prior Payroll Tax experience preferred.
  • Web Based Payroll experience preferred.
